Solar façade for PANORAMA VIENNA – model and flagship photovoltaic project funded by the Climate and Energy Fund

This project is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and is being carried out as part of the “Model and Flagship Projects Photovoltaics” program.

In 2024, we received funding approval from the Climate and Energy Fund as a model and flagship photovoltaic project for the integrated PV façade on the Panorama Rotunda.

On an area of approx. 1,600 square meters, approx. 900 PV panels will be integrated into the façade
and with an output of 383 kWp will generate approx. 300,000 kWh of electricity produced. This corresponds to the annual consumption of approx. 75 4-person households. The integrated solar façade also conserves resources, as PV panels are installed on the PV surface of the façade instead of Alucobond panels.

The Climate and Energy Fund’s Model and Flagship Project Photovoltaics funding program only supports PV systems that are characterized by particularly innovative approaches. The aim of the funding is to encourage other investors, project developers and regions to emulate projects that stand out as “beacons”.

We are therefore particularly pleased that our project has been selected by the Climate and Energy Fund and that PANORAMA VIENNA, as a new cultural enterprise with the innovative solar façade, can make an innovative contribution to achieving Austria’s ambitious climate targets at the traditional Vienna Prater.
